Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • Usage Data

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.

Usage Data may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, Your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, Your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Health and wellness data

HolieMood includes features that can process information about Your mood, emotions, and wellbeing. Depending on how You use the Application, the Application may access, collect, store, or process the following categories of health and wellness data (in addition to Personal Data and Usage Data described above). How that happens—and whether We can read it on Our servers—differs by feature; see Encryption and what We can read below.

Category Examples of what this may include How it is used
Mood and emotional state Mood selections, labels, ratings, or similar inputs You provide for tracking or emotional scripture matching (including optional short notes if a feature lets You add them) To run mood tracking, match verses and content to the state You indicate, and show You history inside the app where the feature provides it
Journal entries Private journal content You write in the journal section Encrypted so that the Company cannot read the plaintext of Your entries; used only so You can view and manage Your journal on Your devices
Favorited AI responses AI replies You choose to save as favorites Stored encrypted so that the Company cannot read the plaintext; used only so You can keep and reopen those favorites in the app
Other saved study content For example favorite verses or similar items You save outside the journal or favorited-AI flows To store and display those saves in the Application as You expect
Guided breathwork / mindfulness-style activity Session or feature usage tied to breathwork (e.g., that You started or completed a session), preferences You set in the app To deliver guided breathwork, remember Your preferences, and improve those features
AI companion session messages Things You type in the AI chat during an active session, which may mention feelings, stress, faith questions, or personal situations Not stored in Our databases. Messages exist only on Your device for the active session and are removed when the session ends; We do not keep chat history on Our servers after that. A prompt may be sent to an AI Service Provider only to generate a reply for that request; We do not retain that conversation in Our systems afterward

We use health and wellness data only to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Application and its features, to communicate with You about the Service where appropriate, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell health or wellness data. We do not use this data to provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment; HolieMood is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.

Encryption and what We can read: Journal entries and favorited AI responses are protected with encryption so that We cannot access or read their contents on Our end—they are for Your use inside the app only. AI chat messages are not saved to Our databases; they live on Your device for the session and then are gone from a storage perspective on Our side as described above. Other items (such as mood selections, account data, usage or diagnostic data, or ciphertext blobs We cannot decrypt) may still be processed or hosted as needed to run the Service.

Third parties and processing: We use Service Providers (for example cloud hosting, databases, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, payment processors, and—during an active AI request—model providers) where needed to operate the Application. We do not provide those providers with readable journal or favorited-AI content in plaintext. For AI replies, only what is necessary to fulfill the current request may be processed by the model provider for that moment, consistent with the session behavior above. Other processing follows Our agreements and applicable law.

Platform health services: The Application does not read from or write to Apple Health, Google Health Connect, or other similar platform-level health or fitness databases. Health and wellness data is limited to what You provide or generate inside HolieMood as described in the table above.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data (including health and wellness data where applicable) for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service and to operate mood tracking, emotional matching, breathwork, saved journey features, and AI-powered features You choose to use.
  • To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service.
  • To contact You: To contact You by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, products or contracted services.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share Your personal information (including health and wellness data, only as needed to provide the Service) in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: We may share Your personal information with Service Providers to host data, monitor and analyze the use of our Service, process payments, send communications, and perform other processing described in this Privacy Policy. We do not share the readable contents of Your encrypted journal or encrypted favorited AI responses with Service Providers as plaintext. AI chat is not retained in Our databases after a session; any prompt sent to a model provider is for that request only, as described under Health and wellness data.
  • For business transfers: We may share or transfer Your personal information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business to another company.
  • With law enforcement: Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Retention of Your Personal Data

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
